When we put our substrate on hotplate what happens? Suppose NiOx as HTL after spin coating we put substrate on 340C for annealing. My question is why put it on hotplate, for crystallization? or some thing else?

My answer to the question is late but i hope it will be useful for the researchers In visiting this page.
IN order to see the effect of annealing on NiOx after spin coating you can measure the conduction type and conductivity of the deposited layer. In this way you can your self investigate you sample.
In general, post heat treatment can affect structural changes in material. Here may be the most important change is to produce the required p-type conduction required since the annealing will be in air. Annealing also enhance the crysatllization of the film.

The hotplate treatment usually has a number of aspects that all have to do with the increase in reaction speed with the raise in temperature. It might
- speed (re-)crystallization
- help to finalize chemical reactions (e.g. oxidation if executed in "plain air")
- help equalizing unintended concentration differences (via the increased diffusion rate at higher temperatures).
The above list might be incomplete - it's just a compilation of what sprang readily into my mind.
