What happens with frontal mirror neurons during childhood development? Can we associate problems with mirror neurons with cases of childhood development delay or psycomotor delay on children without probable cause, or a with slow achievements of their milestones? Are there studies seeking for such associations?
The following is absolutely estimation, but from the macro point of view, impulse from the frontal mirror neurons first synapse in thalams and second in spine have learning ability. Normal child rapidly learn mobility, vocabulary and face to face communication . Childhood development delay might be somewhat lack of learning capability of the synapse. For example, If ADHD child is properly nurtured, he/she is grown up quite normal and rather able to have productive life.

So by neural plasticity a neuron could change its function depending on the stimuli it recieve, but could it change back to its primitive condition so could mirror neurons change back after there original functions cease to exist?

From my experience prescribing SSRI(Selectibe Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibiter) and SNRI(Selective Serotonin Noradrenalin Re-uptake Inhibiter) to depressive or anxiety disorder to ADULT patients, I think “neural” plasticity consist of far more synaptic plasticity than neurilemma etc. I estimate mirror neuron appears to be able to learn mainly through synaptic changes rather than neurilemma, but which contribute to increase transmission speed. So childhood development delay or psycomotor delay on children may be originated from synaptic changes or neurilemma changes.
Thanks Kazuo for you insight, know comes the idea of how far can neural plasticity be pushed how far can the function of a mirror neuron or a neuron by move back and foward, and if we could help neural plasticity on psycomotor delay, how to stimulate those neurons besides the use of physical therapy.
Demian, besides physical and CBT(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), I sometime prescribe atomoxetine hydrochloride rather than methylphenidate hydrochloride to ADOLESCENT and ADULT AD/HD patients. Some other patients'(with depression or anxiety) son or daughter prescribed from each their doctors. Those drugs works dopamine and noradrenalin receptor at synapses. But I think psychotherapy including CBT is more effective rather than drugs from my experience, because child and person are able to LEARN.

I believe also that therapy is better than pharmaceuticals, but on cases where therapy cant work when severe mental retardation or a severe cerebral palsy are diagnose or any other diseases where theres minimally conscious state or a vegetative state, we could try to modify those mirror neurons that where original functioning on achieving new skills, we could try to stimulate them to regain function, that would be nice, but i think we should know more about the evolution of mirror neurons on childhood development so we could generate some therapies that would help on severe cases.

Dear Dr Arturo, research findings vary, but some studies suggest that atypical mirror neuron activity may be observed in children with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), where developmental delays are often evident. However, the relationship is complex, and more research is needed to establish direct causation. And, i suggest there is a need for more precise methodologies and a better understanding of the diversity in neural processes during childhood development.
