It has been observed that a gas is released when ÀC that has been reacted with chlorate is being regenerated. Loss in regen efficiency of the AC points to some chemisorption as well as physisorption of the chlorate onto the AC. During regeneration, bubbles are reportedly released. What gas is being formed- chlorine or chlorine dioxide?
