Researching into Knowledge Management adoption and implementation frameworks in AEC for a developing economy and have been running short of gaps relating to cost management of infrastructure construction and provision of services in AECs.
I will appreciate leads and recommendations in this area of study, especially in relation to the study of KM and Quantity Surveying.

I believe the gap has to do with the concept of KM been a new realm study which has do organization culture, process, strategy, technology etc. Therefore cost mgt of services will be dependent on the capability of the expertise in sharing the right files that contains the required information among the team members.

I think there is a lack of data in comparing estimated cost with actual cost of construction. When estimating construction cost, some companies assume 15% of contingencies on top of bottom-up costing. In terms of of knowledge management, publication of post-construction learnings will be good.
