Many researchers prefer ISI journals as many universities weigh publications according to the quality or impact of the journal through the ISI Journal Impact Factor (JIF).
The fate of the journals really depends on the efforts the journal editor in chief and editorial board make to promote the journal. Journal evaluation is ongoing at Thomson Reuters with journals added to and deleted from Web of Science throughout the year.
The journal can be promoted the journals in the following:
Selection and updating the editorial board from prominent searcher with appropriate field of expertise

International diversity
Thomson Reuters editors look for international diversity among the journal's contributing authors, editors, and editorial advisory board members
They can definitely remain. it depends on the editorial Board whether they are prepared to rigorously work for the journal to grow. No journal is great from day one. The best ones are reflection of very hard work by those who own the responsibility of that journal. If so, they can gradually march towards gaining a higher stature including accreditation and impact factor.

I think that serious journals will enter ISI Web of Science someday; whether other journals will remain or disappear, I think that, they will somehow disappear.
In my humble judgment, it is not good to generalize that only ISI journals are of good quality and all other journals are not of good quality. I belong to the discipline of Finance and Economics. You might be aware that there are many "weak" ISI journals and also there are many top-quality Finance/Economics journals that are not included in the ISI list. So my balance of judgment is that before accepting any ISI journal, we should check very carefully whether the journal is published by reputed publishers such as, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley/Blackwell, Taylor & Francis, etc.
In my opinion, the global market of scientific journals will change. Today, the quality of journals is setting by ISI Web of Science and rest journals should try to be as ISI Journals, but this is process of evolution and we have to be aware of the changes. To sum up, some journals will disappear, but mayby some will be much stronger, than today.
Thank you, Behrouz Ahmadi-Nedushan for the helpful advice which I refer to when advising the members of the Editorial Board of one journal.
I agree with Abedallah M Rababah’s opinion that the journals that don’t reach for a higher status will somehow disappear.
Debi S. Saini is absolutely right saying that the journals can remain, but in order to do this the editorial boards of the journals must strictly work and "grow" the journal.
I agree with Abul Mansur M. Masih, that it is not good to generalize that only ISI journals are of good quality and all other journals are not of good quality. However, (at least in my country) even a very good quality journal loses its value when it comes to presenting the results of the scientific production at the end of the calendar year. Scientific output is evaluated in scores, so only those who publish their researches on the ISI Web of Science journals get the highest scores. And the ratings of the scientists themselves depend on the number of scores collected.
One of Lithuanian scholars I highly respect said to me, “You do so much work on the article, which you are going to publish in the journals reviewed in ordinary databases. So is it worth to send it to the ordinary journals? Send it right to the ISI Web of Science Journal".
I agree, Karina Erenkfeit that the global market of scientific journals will change.
Thank you to all who have expressed your opinions on the issue of concern to me.
It is possible, but I think that most of them will remain. On the other hand some journals that are not more on ISI Web of Science, may still be found in Pub Med and Scopus.
Dear Jolita, the Journal should remain in the academic arena because all the research work cannot be published through ISI Web of Science Journals. If your students are producing good research work but does not secure the place in any ISI Journal then they can publish their work other reputed Journals. There are several Journals of different reputed Universities but they are not included in ISI Web of Science but the reputation and credibility of the Journals are more than at par. So, I think these Journals should remain in the academic and research World.
I definitely agree with Rizwan Raheem Ahmed. I think that, if we want hold a top o journals (list of the best journals), we have to have another, but still very good journals without ISI points.
Academic staff and institutions are being compared and ranked based on their scientific influence which is often determined by the number of citations they receive. Scopus and Clarivate (ISI) WoS are totally working based on citation analysis and therefore, top journal and conferences wish to find their ways to these bibliographic databases especially to be included in Clarivate Journal Citation Report.
