I measured the concentration anaesthetic gas (isoflurane) in both artery and coronary sinus (vein) from patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
Student T test (related) showed that arterial isoflurane concentration had not equilbrated with its coronary isoflurane concentraiton.
My possible explanation is:
- poor blood circulation as the nature of cardiac surgery (most patients will have blocked or narrow coronary artery
Could it be may be both arterial and coronary sinus have not reached equilibrium?
Kindly please advise further. I am a novice in learning anaesthesia. Would be great if anyone could explain or guide me through.
Many thanks.
