What effects do TiO2 nanoparticles have on DNA methylation of HeLa cells?

I recently did a plate reader assay experiment to determine the effect of TiO2 nanoparticles on HeLa cells. My results showed that there was no changes in methylation the between my control and experimental samples. Other experiments have shown TiO2 inducing hypomethylation in cells however these cells were normal cells ( specifically lung fibroblast).

I believe the TiO2 nanoparticles could not affect cells solely, without external stimuli such as light.
