When doing graphene oxide by modified hummers we obtain the spectrum IR with the caracteristics peaks of fuctional groups, when doped with MnO2, certain signals dissapear, and not even mini peak shows, the functional groups dissapear. Somehow the IR didn´t show them and I´m not sure why, because when doing the DRX spectrum the caraceristic peak of graphene oxide reduced shows in an angle of 2theta of 10 or so.
Does anybody know why this happens?
Are you getting Mn-O stretching modes of tetrahedral and octahedral sites at 520 cm-1 in rGO-MnO2 ? Other peak's intensity will reduce but they should be present in FTIR spectra which may be due to the reduction of the peripheral COOH, (the Lerf-Klinowskii model22) to CH2OH .
