The LMT is the pristine material. In the doping materials Mg2+ and Ti4+ are replaced by Ca2+ and Nb3+ or Nb5+ (exact oxidation state of Nb can be confirmed by the XPS analysis) as given. So there may be a possibility as the doping increased more phase formation occurred leading to cubic or rhombohedral type particles as shown in Figures. You can also tally the particle size/ crystallite size with the doping amounts and compare with the bandgap of the individuals. This may be helpful.
