I got a rejection note from the Editorial office of a journal.

Initial message is

"our manuscript, .... was placed  before the editor.  He is of the opinion that the paper lacks substance and rigor. Hence, it is not suitable for consideration in ...."

There is a separate note reiterating the above However, additional message is as below

"The paper was discussed with the Editor. He is of the opinion that the paper lacks in substance and rigor of a research paper. Hence, it can not be considered in present form."

As an in experienced author I am unable to decipher the full message.

Any help to understand is appreciated.
