Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Laos problems should be manageable assuming politeness and a degree of cultural awareness on the parts of personnel. Laos and parts of Northern Thailand will provide challenges in terms if infrastructure and resources. The Southern part of Thailand, the Kra Isthmus, should be avoided as there is a good deal of unrest there.
Malaysia is not a culturally and politically homogeneous entity. Working on the West Coast of the Peninsula will provide few problems, but the East Coast, particularly Kelantan and Terengganu can present infrastructure problems and they are far more religiously and politically conservative. Women should dress somewhat modestly and men should not find themselves alone with a Malay woman.
