What caused the HT-29 cells to cluster after I treated them with the drug?

I isolated the polysaccharide from animal sources and applied it to HT-29 cells in various concentrations, yet all concentrations clumped in the same manner. I had no idea what mechanism was at work during this process. Could someone please clarify this for me?
