If you have a research which you are working on a long time ago, but after a deep research you find a similar study , not quietly different from yours , with the same hypothesis, methods and results. You move forward or you use it as a part of the literature review ....or what !

Well, if the question is about a thesis, whether PhD, DBA or Masters thesis, the answer is no, you cannot move forward. You really need to find a theoretical gap in the literature to carry out your research. However, for writing an article, only contextual or empirical gap can also be published provided that the research is still carrying significance and there is a rationale to do that particular research.
