I am using Abaqus to simulate, the initial boundary conditions which i have tried, is giving me a error of 32% with the theoretical solution. And this is for buckling analysis.
If you are trying to obtain the Yongs' Modulus through simulation, two important factors should be considered. A ideal result can't be obtained with only friction being considered. In fact, oblique contant is the key factor influencing the E. More details can be found in my article(Exp Tech (2017) 41:327–330).
Thank you for the response, infact i am actually trying to find the critcal load so from Abaqus i will get a eigenvalue and this will be multiplied by the applied load. I had the boundary conditions to be at the top of the plate and bottom U1 and U3 = 0. Left and Right of the plate U2 and U3 = 0 while a shell edge load is applied to the left and right side edges of the plate. Do you think these boundary conditions which i have applied are correct?
