in general, project scheduling include identification of project activities , defining relationships among them, estimating duration , drawing project network and analysis using several methods including CPM . finally producing schedule of the project .

In earned value management the Actual times and durations are compared to estimated times ( extracted from scheduling management) .So any EOT extension of time needed is based on such comparisons and any corrective action taken is based on analysis done through schedule management as well ( e.g. crashing is done focusing on critical activities ) .
