Be clear and concise about the topic you're focusing on and introduce your research problem to contextualise in your context of the study.

Dear Krishna, this is a very important technical question which will be of significant interest to many other RG members as well. I'm not sure how general guides to introduction writing are. My personal advice would be to read a number of recent journal articles which are closely related to the topic of your planned manuscript. Try to read some papers of the leading scientists in your field. This will immediately give you an idea of how a good introduction in your discipline is written. Most important is that you clearly outline why and in which context your work is important. Then you should cite the most important previous work in the field, and don't forget to give full credit to the pioneers in the field. That's about it. Good luck and best woshes, Frank Edelmann
