I did my PhD in survey methodology and coded question-answer sequences from recorded interviews for my dissertation data. I built my coding scheme on some of the common schemes in my field and have, more or less, used fairly standard statistical techniques thus far. But I know there are entire histories of sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics out there. I'm more familiar with the qualitative end of sociolinguistics (e.g., ethnomethodology) and only at a surface level. My research is quantitative. I'm curious to find out more about the quantitative/statistical methods out there in sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics. For context, my undergrad was in psych, and being a survey methodologist, I'm no stranger to statistical methods. My question to you is,

What are your favorite books and papers on quantitative/statistical analysis in sociolinguistics or psycholinguistics?

Thanks in advance!
