Enzymes from the lyase, ligase, and hydrolase classes have the ability to catalyze carbon-carbon bond formation. Likewise, I want to know about specific enzymes (like Transglutaminases) or class of enzymes which plays part in iso-peptide bond formation. Answers would be highly appreciate
An example is the muramyl ligase MurD in the biosynthetic pathway for synthesis of bacterial peptidoglycan. This enzyme catalyzes addition of an isopeptide bond between UDP-MurNAc-alanine and D-glutamate.
