hello everyone , my question is what are the gold nano-particles property's that different from size to size , and is this reflect on its applications? and what is the size range that usually used in designing electrochemical sensors?
Small Au-nanoparticles show surface plasmon resonance (SPR) while bigger ones show Z-axis bridging properties. Sometimes small Au-nanoparticles show magnetic property. Size dependent refractive index, optical, catalytic, thermal, photocatalytic properties etc. of Au-nanoparticles are seen.
The size rage of gold nanoparticles for sensor application depend on the purpose of applications or which property is considered. Usually 3-100 nm Au-nanoparticles are used in sensor-technology. Please see the attached paper.
