In which kind of situations we have to go for PJ69-4a / MaV99 strains instead of Y190?

Please explain with background information and example of real application.

Hi there,

There is only one auxotrophy reporter gene available in Y190 with leaky expression (HIS3) whereas there are 2 with tight regulation in PJ69 (HIS3 and ADE2). However LacZ assay may be run only in Y190.
