In my one of the project which was based on metal oxide material based supercapacitor electrode in which I used carbon material during the synthesis and I got a core-shell structure of carbon and metal oxide based material.
In this can anyone help me to find reasoning behind it and what are the characterisation technique I required to support the reasoning.

It depends on the synthesis method, probabally you are using one of the methods from chemical precipitation, sol-gel, microemulsion and inverse micelle formation (not limited to these only) etc, so to find exact reason of formation of core shell, your synthesis method is required.
For the characterization, you can use one or combination of the TEM, UV, XRD and XPS etc. TEM and affiliated techniques will surely provide the surface morphology and the elemental analysis.

I used simple chemical precipitation in which I get core-shell structure which is proved by TEM image. but I didn't get the core-shell structure in SEM due to very small size of particle in order of 10-20nm. But I want to know what are the reason that carbon material and metal oxide form a core-shell spherical particle.
