I have a set of data (diversity in numbers) of deep-sea of Arabian sea , more over i have enough information on the environmental parameters of the region at the sampling, i need help for making methodology to study the correlation between measures of diversity and the environmental influence
I was done some of analysis using PRIMER 6, with both diversity data and environment data. its very helpful any one can suggest good model that can fit to correlate diversity and environment.

What about calculating species diversity and than run a GAM (unimodal responses) or multiple regression (linear response) with environmental variables and diversity as response variable.

What is the research question? correlation needs context, or it is meaningless. There can be a correlation between 2 factors that are totally unrelated.
