As you know there is a number of grades of diesel, based on the content elements in the diesel. The Sulphur content of diesel, it can be useful if the content is less than 500 ppm or it could be harmful as an oxidizing agent for inducing corrosion to metals around/contained the diesel. So,

So, because the presence of Sulphur as an oxidizing agent this would lead to the deterioration of the mechanical properties of the metals/allots.

Warm greeting. Your reply is received but the reduction is definitively not emanating from sulphur. Instead, the reduction/increase in the mechanical properties (hardness and tensile strength ) has to do with diffusion kinetics of fatty acid (m) ethyl esters of biodiesel into automotive part such as elastomers and metals.

The level of activity in biodiesel to biodiesel’s conductivity, which in turn, observed to be influenced by the presence of metal ions, the oxygen concentration of the biodiesel and fuel types’ heating temperature. The conductivity and other property (dissolved oxygen concentration)

are reported to influence the interaction between metal and biodiesel fuel.
