I have some graphite based inks treated at different temperatures, Raman spectra shows different intensity of 2D bands in each of the inks and there is no relation between the change in temperature and change in 2D band intensity. What can be the possible reasons for variation in 2D band intensity in graphite? Can anyone please explain?
Intensity also depends on concentration of sample. So, in your case inks are treated at different temperatures should have change in chemical properties and results in change Raman intensity.
Raman spectra of large aromatic carbon ring systems show a reduction of the intensity ratio of vibrations corresponding to C-C stretching in the G and D regions, when the number of rings, and therefore the size of the molecular system, increases. Intensity grows as the relative content of disorder or edge carbon atoms increases . First characterise your inks and find out the crystallite size, concentration and amount of carbon and shape of carbon particles. only then a correlation can be established between Raman and temperature of processing.

The 2D peak of graphite Raman is the second order of the D peak. This is a single peak in single layer graphene and it splits into four in 2-layered graphene, because of the evolution of the electron band structure.
