Many conferences mention in their call for papers that the authors of accepted papers in the conference will be invited to submit an extended version of the paper to be published in "xxx" journals that is related somehow to the conference organization or publisher.

The question is, what are the expected extensions?

Are they just more clarifications to the published conference paper?

Are they new results related to the mentioned future work in the conference paper?

Are they supposed to complete the work in the conference paper and strictly related to it?

Would appreciate any idea about that.

Regards
