What are the drawbacks of using an Ag/AgCl reference electrode in 1M Phosphate Buffer Saline ( PBS)?

I always find that after using Ag/AgCl electrode in a neutral buffer, the potential after calibration changes consistently? So I'm wondering what could be the reasons for this?
