What are the benefits of eating chocolate sweetened with agave syrup? Is it good for children to give them daily chocolate with agave syrup and for athletes? Is the benefits scientifically proven?
this is a controversial issue as on-going discussions in the literature show. Since a number of years, I am using Agave sirup myself as sweetener in my breakfast instead of honey. Although I am sensitive to fructose (most of Agave syrup is fructose) I never had any issues.
Agave has beneficial properties which support digestive health, containing naturally occurring inulin found in a number of vegetables including onions, green beans, asparagus, and artichokes. Agave also has a relatively low Glycemic Index.
