What should one have to do reduce the environmental pollution? Certain things such as industries, automobiles are today's needs but they are the major cause of pollution... we can't close or stop them (yes, may pose some restrictions).
As some one said "Be the change you want to see". To stop or reduce pollution one have to start from himself irrespective of imposing charges to others. What are the steps one must follow to reduce the pollution?

End-user efficiency is increased up the supply chain, so reduces losses of transmission, losses at product, losses associated with the lifecycle costs of producing energy, harvesting and disposing of the materials. All of this adds up to much larger shifts.
But I think those technological shifts pale in comparison to the true desire to live in a healthy, pollution free world. I think that as long as there is money to be made and no responsibility to be had pollution will continue to be an issue. We should be way past the level of pollutants that we are willing to endure, and yet in most cases we are still increasing, and not decreasing. I think one of the biggest changes that could be made would be to revoke the rights of corporations as individuals. This law is one of the most influential laws in western history, and allows individuals to hide behind a fictitious entity to escape all responsibility of their business decisions. We see it all the time, from worker rights to pollution to downright theft of investor money, and yet nobody is held accountable. If anything happens that is really bad you simply dissolve the corporation and start a new one. The same people are out there getting to do the same crap over and over again by not having to own up to the responsibilities of their decisions. We then go and blame the corporation, as if it has a mind and will of its own. So I think that would be an important first step, is to truly make individuals accountable for their actions and decisions, and not the corporate entity.

2. Awareness and education at grassroots level (about the likelihood of pollutants impact on water, food contamination and via contamination to human health)
3. Promote green life style and its benefits (e.g. use of energy efficient appliances and energy savings = less electricity bills, less carbon pollution)
