There are 2 main approaches to qualitative analysis: inductive and deductive.
Additionally, there are 2 types of inductive qualitative analysis: thematic content analysis and narrative analysis, both of which are unstructured approaches to research.
On the other hand, Deductive analysis requires a structured/pre-determined approach. Here, the researcher builds categories in advance of his/her data analysis, and subsequently map connections in the data to categories identified.

One of the most popular ways to analyze qualitative interviews is with thematic analysis (Braun and Clarke, 2006). In the terms outlined by Bassey Ebenso, it is an inductive form of analysis, so you develop your codes from the data itself, rather than starting with a set of pre-determined codes.

Steps in Performing a Thematic Analysis
1. Become acquainted with your data.
2. Assign preliminary codes to your data to define its content.
3. Look for trends or themes in your codes throughout all of your interviews.
4. Go through topics again.
5. Identify and label themes.
6. Write your report.

I don't want to complicate things but....I think the approach used to analyse qualitative data depends on your overall approach, research question, and method, for example, in my opinion thematic analysis is not strictly compatible with phenomenology. Similarly, there is a specific approach to data analysis required when using Grounded Theory. You can also utilise other approaches such as content analysis, discourse analysis, narrative analysis. It would be worth looking at some qualitative research textbooks, e.g. Qualitative Research edited by David Silverman, “Qualitative Inquiry & Research Design: Choosing Among Five Approaches” John Creswell.
I think you must look at your Research questions, your overall research methodology, approach and most importantly examine what is it that you would like to decipher through your interviews. For instance, if it is a phenomenon that you are exploring - IPA could be your approach of analysing the interviews. I think you must examine these before you dive into analysing the interviews.
