I am going to run a Western blot experiment on a region of the rat brain to assess activation of microglia. The plan is to conduct Western blots and treat the blots with Iba1 and OX6 antibody (to detect MHC Class II via CD74). However, I'm on a really tight budget. In order to minimize cost, I want to use antibodies produced in the same type of animal so I can buy just one fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibody to use for both proteins. I have heard good things about Wako's rabbit Iba1 antibody, but that antibody is too expensive. I would also need a fluorophore-conjugated anti-rabbit secondary antibody in addition to an anti-mouse fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibody, unless there is an effective mouse antibody that marks the same protein, which increases cost even further. What are some good antibodies that fit these criteria?
