Hi...Biopesticides are made of microbes (e.g. bacteria, fungi, viruses...), whereas natural pesticides are consisting of plant extracts, essential oils (e.g. clove oil, Citrus oil, mustard oil...)...For further information, please find the attached pdf files....
Extracts from the leaves or seeds of some plants can be termed as biological pesticides. Leaf extracts of Azadirichta Indica and/or Anona squamosa may be used afterproper dilution
Pesticides are agents (natural/biological & synthetic) that kill pests. Natural pesticides come from nature. They may be micro-organisms, biogenic substances, plant extracts, oils, compounds etc. Biopesticides are pesticides of biological origin or derived from organisms. Amongst them very famous are the microbial pesticides like bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc. Examples of botanicals are nicotene, pyrethrum, rotenone, etc. Among the bacterial pesticides the most famous is Bacillus thurin giensis that kills caterpillara of lepidopteran and dipteran pests . Bacillus papilliae kills beetles.
Some examples of viral pesticides are Polyhedrosis virus (PV that causes polyhedrosis), Granulosis virus (GV that produces granular bodies on lepidopteran and hymenopteran hosts
Some fungal pesticides are Beauveria bassiana (against Colorado beetle), Verticillium lecanil (against aphids and whitefly).
Very famous and popular pesticides are neem extract (main constituent azadirachtin). Actually its seeds, leaves and oil all can be used as pesticide.
Special preparations using cattle dung, cattle urine, mustard oil cake may also be used as pesticides. They all come under natural pesticides.
Among the biological pest controllers there are also nematode parasites, parasitoids, predators who also kill pests in different ways.
Many include nimbidine, citronella oil, etc under natural pesticides but basically they are pest repellents
Biological pesticide (Biopesticide) is a form of pesticide based on microorganisms or natural products.
Natural pesticides are pesticides made by other organisms usually for their own defence, or are derived from a natural source such as mineral or plant.
