General and not only Canada but this matter also depend on what you want. For example, ETABS and SAFE are used for superstructure and foundation design, BIM software is also starting to become common for project management purposes. RISA 3D is often used for non-building structures. For transportation engineering, Civil 3D and TES are pretty popular choices. I think that AutoCAD is commonly used for all our drawings.
