there are very Important issues in the area of seismic/dynamic analysis, for example:

Semi active control,passive control, Probabilistic seismic design, Aftershock effects on structure response etc.

There are a plenty of interesting subjects to study and problems to solve in seismic/dynamic analysis as the following few examples:

1. Rigorous non-linear dynamic analysis of seismic response

2. Minimum seismic pounding gap between adjacent structures

3. SEISMIC PROTECTIVE SYSTEMS like eg vibration attenuation based on periodic foundations (exciting frequency within a band gap) and others as Elastomeric Bearings, Sliding Bearings, ...

4. Friction and other Dampers for Seismic response  improvement

5. Seismic assessment and optimized correction measures for existing buildings

Improved autonomy and sinchronization of wireless sensors (accelerometrers) for the instrumentation and evaluation of existing buildings.

1) understanding non-linear dynamics and chaotic behaviour of multi-body systems;

2) assessment of seismic resilience and tolerability margins of buildings and engineering structures
