Large scientific research projects are characterized above all by:
- a high financial budget that comes from the private or public sector, possibly as part of a public-private partnership,
- high priority of the importance of the research subject for social and economic reasons,
- often also in specific socio-economic realities concern specific issues that are particularly important in a given period. For example, they are now ecological innovations, new solutions in the field of renewable energy, reduction of mineral combustion in classical energy, improvement and automation of waste segregation, cleaning of degraded environment pollution, exploration of cosmos and ocean depths, development of electromobility, creating conditions for the development of concepts and implementation of sustainable economic development of national economies.
