What analysis tool is most suitable for transient-state analysis and designing control to mitigate those transients in power distribution system? I am planning to carry out transient analysis caused by sudden increase in load on distribution feeder and want to control those transient by charging/discharging the battery storage system. Our load has a high ramp rate and high magnitude which could cause these transients in the distribution grid voltage profile.

What you are trying to do is actually to detect disruptions, rather than follow the transient signals over time.
This is all about maximum likelihood. The radar systems of the 1940s used this principle.
At time t you compare hypotheses H0 =stable with H1 = disruption.
You end up with a sum of Log P(t, H0)/P(t, H1).
You need to observe your data, find thresholds, then you have a detector.
Something more elaborate: you have a short memory model Ms, and a long memory model Ml, and you compare how they differ. At a disruption point, they differ a lot.
You will find in my publications a method based on convexity disruption detection.
It is using concepts of large deviation theory.
It is a simple and powerful tool, which you adapt to your use case.

Swing curve, using swing equation would give you the number of cycles, after which the system would be stable, for the transient disturbance happened, hence could utilized the time for charging/discharging your battery storage system...

Bhupendra Desai Sir I think you are talking about electromechanical transients, right? would this also work for electromagnetic transients because I'm more concerned about electromagnetic transients. Also, if you have some article on this, can you please share?
Mechanical to Electrical to Mechanical ( Generator/Motor) are via electromagnetic(reactive power)....
