When deciding how much for weigh for MIC testing following CLSI guidelines, should the potency given as 1023 μg per mg be taken or should we calculate using the
potency=(assay purity)* (active fraction)*(1 - water content) formula?

If the Vancomycin monograph describes the assay and calculation, follow the monograph. You can dry it first and calculate the potency using HPLC and reference standard, or determine the water content and use your formula with water correction.
i agree with J.L.Champika, but if u don't get it easily on the company website,
Ask the supplier to provide all the details properly required in the formula. In CLSI guideline, it is not explained the things properly.
