hello sir. i think it;s all about degradation. if the polymer that will be utilized is a carbohydrate polymer like chitosan or alginate. degradation product of alginate is uronic acids. it can be determined in the drug disintegration media using Phenol-sulfuric acid spectrophotometric methods. hope this answer helps you. keep in touch.
Polymers which are degradable, will be cleared from our system, through liver, spleen or kidney. This depends upon the size and property of the degraded products.
Thak you very much dears for your informative response, but when the drug molecules are removed from the polymer network without degradation means that only size change cause the removal of drug from the polymer network then what happens to the polymer microgel particles?
Now-a-days we use only biodegradable polymers/materials as drug carriers for micro/nano particles, which degrade in our body/systems after drug release or simultaneously along drug release as bio-erosion.
when we use polymer microgels as carrier for drug delivery, they biodegarde within the body. The intracellular environment inside the body makes the microgels to release the drug and degrade them
