Is it possible to find a virulent gene of specific bacterial genus to other genus of bacteria, using same gene specific primer in PCR? For example, If we want to find hemolysin gene in Pseudomonas using a primer that successfully identified hemolysin in aeromonas.

Some genes can be transferred from 0ne bacterium to other spontaneously in bacterial community.For instance we detected VAN A gene of VRSA in some enterococci by PCR.This is an attractive and recent work.
PCR sometimes give false positive results and few mismatches can also be amplified with long cycle. The sensitivity and fedality of PCR is the most important fact.
The sequences of aer and hly for Aeromonas and Pseudomonas may be slightly varied or not. Therefore the best idea could be the checking of primers quality in some built-in database of any primer design software or careful optimization of PCR in lab.
