I found recently an old, but quite functional mechanical typewriter. This is "Continental", made in Chemnitz, Saxony, in 1943, shortly before the bombing of the city by Anglo-American aircraft, after which there were no production facilities in the city (as well as mostly city itself; there were still light tanks and tank engines produced). It's funny, but it has a original Russian (but untypical ЪЭУКЕН (=..ERTY) instead of German QWERTN) keyboard (for those who know the story, this keyboard is a mystery). Has anyone used typewriters? I found typewriters (both mechanical and electrical), dot-matrix printers (with the same printing tape), and much more ...

1. Who remembers the first computers (8086, 8088, ...)?

I once was in a company that deals with the service and repair of computers. There, the whole wall was filled with old motherboards (8088, 80286, 386, 486, etc.). Unfortunately, the new director, not understanding the value of this collection (it was not only cultural, but also quite commercial value), ordered to throw out "this junk". Moron.

2. What is the oldest experimental equipment available to you so far?

I know one device produced around 1985 that still works. It has completely replaced electronics (by modern one). The measuring part (mechanical) there is perfection itself, in my opinion it is better than modern analogs.

By the way, does anyone have drivers for this device?
