Dear researchers,

I am trying to build a rotary rig where I am using a belt for the transmission of rotation from an electric motor to the shaft.

I have same diameter pulley both ends, I measured the trum length and force and based on that I choose the correct belt ( V belt ).

Now I am in the phase of tension the belt where I followed two approaches.

The first I used a digital force meter to the required deflection and I changed the tension of the belt until I achieved the required force per deflection but when I tried to measure the span frequency I did not find the corresponding one. (I used a laser vibrometer to measure the frequency spectrum when I make a hummer punch.

if anyone among you has an experience with that please advise on which method I should follow and if using the laser vibrometer is correct
