I am a little confused as to how i use G* power to work out how many participants I need (a priori analysis). I am doing a MANCOVA followed by moderation analyses probably using PROCESS. So when i enter the statistical test I am using I'm not sure if i enter "MANOVA" or "Linear Multiple Regression". Any help would be great.

G*Power, while comprehensive in its sample size choices, does have a few limitations. For example, it is not explicitly able to calculate sample sizes for MANCOVA. you specify your study design and assumptions in G*Power, and it computes the number of participants needed to achieve your desired statistical power.
usually regresions work for repetitive info, meanwhile manova is for the study of error term. actually you use both. except when data is random, then you don't use linear regression, instead you pick histogram and multivariate normal bell.
