Hi,

I am the operator of the N2 surface analyzer in our labs and recently someone came to me to ask whether it is possible to measure sulfur particles in the analyzer.

Now, I see two issues, first the preparation includes drying of the material. Sulfur has the tendency to melt and evaporate.

Secondly, I am afraid that the sulfur will sublimate at the low pressures and possibly contaminate the manifold.

Does anybody have any experience or insight on this?

I found one paper specifically on sulfur nanoparticles but no experimental info is given...

Article Sulfur Nanoparticles Synthesis and Characterization from H2S...

I am afraid that sulfur cannot be measured properly and secondly that I might damage the tool.
