Use corn oil and tween 80 as a solvent for in vivo experiments

Actually, we prepared a stock by diluting a small molecular compound in DMSO for cell experiments. For the animal model, we diluted the stock into 88% corn oil+10% tween 80+2% DMSO. I confuse why used tween 80 for dilution. Does it not hurt animals when intraperitoneal injection of this solvent?
