Usage of 'metacor' in R to pool standardised beta coefficients?

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone knows whether it is statistically valid to use the R-package 'metacor' to pool standardised beta coefficients? It is practically possible but not being a statistician myself I just wanted to check the validity of doing this first.
