Dear all,

I am planning on using a mixed bed resin (ion exchange bead material) for deionization of my 8 M urea stock solution.

I need this solution at pH 2 - will the ion exchanger have effects on the pH??

Should I adjust pH before or after deionization?

Is deionization necessary or indicated when I don't perform ion exchange chromatography? I opted for deionization for elimination of ions of ammonia and carbonic acid (decomposition products of urea) which might modify amino acid residues of my protein.

Thanks for any advice,

Best,

Peter
