Is Unemployment among fresh graduates in your country an issue now? Increase? Less opportunities? The skill and knowledge does not meet industries’ expectation?
The only possibility to avoid the unemployability trap is to get a dual professional education (apprentice work and advanced formal study, mostly offered by blended learning from private colleges). University education is always on a high theoretical level (mostly by state financed academic offices) and too distant from practical learning. The numerical relation of jobs in academia and the number of advanced graduates speaks for itself. Today, you can solve this career problem easier, because a lot of serious dual system offers are on the market, where advanced thinking and working can be combined in a satisfying way.
Unemployment is a big problem especially for graduates, where there are huge numbers without work, whether in the private sector or public, so unemployment is very high.
In the USA unemployment rate has been coming down. It does not mean that people are earning a living wage. Some are working multiple jobs to make ends meet. Some are underemployed. I think Dr. Ternyik is correct that one must have education in two or more fields so that depending on the market one can switch easily and find satisfactory employment. Not to boast, I myself have degrees in three areas: chemical engineering, social work and Geographical Information Systems and have worked in jobs involving all these different fields plus education..
Young graduates unemployment is also an issue on Croatia. There seems to be a gap between labour market requirements and education programs. On the other hand, any changes in higher eduation programs take too much time for implementation due to burreocracy
Unemployment is the problem for graduates other than specialize field . For this such graduates from the regular paper find out the job opportunities in the related line . Graduates cannot afford to sit in a silent manner & according to their specialize study they should find out the higher study material not only for the knowledge but it may help them to find out the job comfortably .There are quite good number of private training center although they are not recognize but they have established their own reputation .
With this such unemployed graduates should find their training in areas of ADM, Costing & budgetary control , rules & regulation for taxation , import & export & such other areas & if they are in the position to find out the necessary requirement of their subject for extra study , they may meet certainly the competition in the interview with other candidates .
Thank you very much Wonderful topic Yes, Iraqi youth care about the increase in unemployment because of the lack of opening new projects and rely on oil only
Unemployment is an issue in today's society. i can understand the root cause into three ways: 1. Universities lack social integration, society (external stakeholders) also seems to be isolated from university activities, so how can university relates its daily activities to the social needs? 2. University programs suffer from lack of creativity and innovation and 3. It is the combination of point 1 and 2 which lead to poor quality of graduate education
The unemployment of graduates in the Republic of Northern Macedonia is a problem as in any other country in the Western Balkans. Until recently, there were many with completed secondary education or incomplete higher education, which were employed even in state institutions. They worked, studied, graduated and formed their education. Some of the graduates who were familiar with the criteria were able to get employed, part of them evicted for employment mainly in Western Europe, and some of them graduated from education at domestic or foreign universities.
Yes, it is a burning issue in developing countries as well as developed nations. Lack of employment opportunities after graduation create social unrest in the country.
The skill and knowledge learnt in school are perfect for the industrial expectations in the real world but ECONOMY is not there to maximally accommodate the skill.
Actually, it is very complicated and accumulated problem in our present days. Universities have to replan this issue every year based on the updated demand of the society.
Emad Kamil Hussein has already pointed out an important aspect associated with this discussion. And it is Educational Planning.
I believe unplanned growth in educational institutions and their courses is one of the major reasons for unemployment among products of such institutions. What is needed is thorough planning and forecasting with respect to demand of graduates from different academic departments. Based on this demand analysis, admissions should be regulated.
I would also like to point out another aspect in this connection. In India, we have huge demand for medical and para-medical graduates. But unfortunately there are not many/sufficient institutions that can cater to this field of education. As for example I would like to cite colleges/ institutions for Nursing Education where B.Sc. (Nursing) / M.Sc.(Nursing) / Ph.D. in Nursing could be offered. Probably, similar is the case with Education on Physiotherapy.
On the contrary, in recent past there had been a spurt in growth of engineering institutions , and as a result some of the products from these places are remaining unemployed. Some of these colleges are not even finding enough students to run the show.
Surely, it is a big and increase issue in my country. Not only because the skill and knowledge does not meet industries, but the reasons is poor planning, conflict of interest between the ruling parties, corruption and terrorism ... all this led to neglect of investment in most economic sectors except oil sector, which most of its workers from foreign employed by investment companies
