I have purchased 'Casein fluorescein isothiocyanate from bovine milk, Type III'. However, I cannot find any literature that defines the Type III caseins. The product documents also do not provide any information. I am curious to know which class of caseins Type III belongs to - alpha S-1, alpha S-2, beta, or kappa?

Indeed the manufacturer is unclear about the exact composition They basically say and I quote “Casein from bovine milk is a phosphoprotein and forms three-dimensional colloidal supramolecular micelles.[1] There are four main types of casein which make up approximately 80% of the total protein in bovine milk: α-s1 casein, α-s2 casein, β-casein, and κ-casein.[2] Casein is proposed to be the main protective constituent in milk. I guess that you must assume that the way they came up with the Casein reflects the composition as found in Bovine milk.

Casein exists in four main subtypes: αs1-casein, αs2-casein, β-casein, κ-casein plus gamma Casein (a degradation product of β-casein) .
*Casein fluorescein isothiocyanate from bovine milk, Type III, is essentially salt-free, lyophilized powder*.
Different methods have been established in isolating and purifying such casein product.
So, you have to isolate the fractions of your purchase to know its composition.
