Trizol vs Beta mercaptoethanol for RNA extraction?

Hello all,

I have always used Trizol reagent to store my samples prior to RNA extraction. I am curious about how to use beta mercaptoethanol as the RNA stabilizer instead of Trizol. What are the pros/cons of this method over Trizol?
