Researchers have published evidence of the validity of the TIMSS assessments in mathematics for country comparisons and in research, but TIMSS also releases a set of items from the assessments called the "released assessment questions". Can one conclude these items share in the quality of the validity argument from the full assessment? Specifically, can one conclude they are valid for use in research based upon the validity evidence for the original TIMSS assessment?

If you think yes, please provide citations if possible.

Thank you.
