Hi all !

Can someone help me with this ?

I need to compute the Thermal Efficiency of a TEG module (Thermoelectric module operating as a Electrical Energy Generator)

After doing some research in the literature I found two different ways (or expressions) to compute the thermal efficiency of this module:

1.) eta = ((Thot - Tcold)/Thot) * [sqrt(1 + ZT) - 1) / (sqrt(1 + ZT) +(Tcold/Thot))]

2.) eta = W_elec/Qhot

For the second case the expression for W_elec and Qhot can be calculated from parameters as the Seebeck Coefficients, Thermal Conductances, Electric Resistances, Temperature Difference between Thot and Tcold, etc.

Does anyone know what is the correct way to obtain eta for TE module ?

I'll appreciate any help

Regards !
